Kristin Cavallari to release cookbook in 2018Reality-star-turned-shoe-designer Kristin Cavallari said Thursday she will release a cookbook with "real, wholesome ingredients" in spring 2018.
"It's going to be a reflection of how I eat on a daily basis," Cavallari told E! News. "I think with everything in your life, diet is all about balance. So I eat healthy 80 percent of the time, and the other 20 percent, I indulge. I enjoy it. I have fun eating whatever I want."
Cavallari, who is married to Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, said there will be a lot of protein and vegetables in the dishes and some meals will include "real butter." The recipe collection will be nearly gluten-free with a limited amount of dairy products. There are a few pasta dishes made with brown rice pasta and "a lot of desserts."
"I have a huge sweet tooth. I just use better ingredients, so I use pure maple syrup, I'm using spelt flour or oat flour, those kinds of things," said Cavallari, 29. "I essentially eat whatever I want, but I just use better ingredients."
Kristin Cavallari: “I can’t just go in a corner and fall apart”Kristin Cavallari is best known as the woman who brought love-triangle drama to MTV’s reality series "Laguna Beach." But the 29-year-old TV personality-turned-shoe and jewelry designer also wrote a well-received book, "Balancing in Heels," which focuses on such topics as diet, health, work and finding happiness.
The mother of three told The Post that her children forced her to stay strong after her brother Michael died in 2015 from hypothermia after a desert car crash.
"Life is always throwing me curveballs," she said Thursday at her New York fashion presentation at the Row NYC hotel. “There are going to be good times and bad times. But I can’t just go in a corner and fall apart. I have to get up every day and put on a strong face for my kids.
"And that is not just to say that you should pretend that everything is OK and ignore whatever is bothering you. I think that there is a lot to be learned by embracing your emotions and dealing with what life gives you."
Cavallari’s children also help as a daily reminder to remain positive and hopeful. "My kids help me a lot and give me motivation to continue on," she says. "My parents are hanging in there. Obviously, it has been a tough year. There are ups and downs, but hopefully we are coming out of the worst of it. We have been a solid support and been there for each other."
Happily, her marriage to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler comes with less drama than her turn on "Laguna Beach" did. As to the lives of wives, fiancées and girlfriends in the sports world, she says, “It is really not that catty, at least not with me. But I have heard stories."
Happy birthday Camden Jack Cutler!
